To customize the layout and properties of each form template, the form must include specific characteristics.
Form Name: A Form name is assigned automatically when opening FormCreator. If the form won’t be saved then the form name will be assigned to the next saved form template. The Form name is structured in a logical way such as: Form_Number_Version e.g. would be Form Template number 9, version 1.
Description: The form has an optional description or name field which gives the user an alternative means of classifying each form template. It is important to identify each Form by name so the user can easily search for and view the Templates in the following processes (in PreViewer, FormPrinter and in the Repository phase, ).
Format: By checking the appropriate box, the user can select the size of the Form required. The Format sizes accepted are A4 and A5 (mostly for European and Asian Standards) and Letter Size (mostly for American Standards). The unit measures for the ruler band are set depending on the size of the paper.
 A4 format is: 210 mm * 297 mm A5 format is: 148 mm * 210 mm Letter Size format is: 215.9 mm * 279.4 mm (8.5 inches x 11 inches).
Orientation: The Orientation can be set for Portrait (P) or Landscape (L) mode for each of the three formats; (A4, A5 and Letter Size).
Picture: The user can add an image as a background. This happens normally when there is an existing printed form and the user needs only to define the fields of the form into the FormCreator in order for the Recognizer to establish where every field is located. The hardcopy already printed or standardized can be used without any changes (e.g.: legal forms that can’t be changed in any way). Existing forms may be inserted into FormCreator. Only jpg, bmp, png image formats will be accepted. When the form must be scanned, the scale and the size of the hardcopy of the form must be represented exactly into the image in order to have a correct synchronization between the image, the data and the hardcopy. One way to see if this process has been done correctly would be to print the form with the image inserted and see if it is identical to the original hardcopy. When you click on the change button you can choose the background file picture from your file system as shown in the print-screen below.

If you want to reset and leave the background empty select the None Button and the background will return empty.
Public: This important feature allows you to restrict the area to specific users to achieve a better recognition rate based on their trained handwriting set of characters. In some cases it is not possible to know which users will write the forms and for this reason there is an option left as "all". It is always possible in the PreViewer module to change the user settings. Only e users who have done the training session will be accepted in the public section.
Language: You can change the language set for every form so that when the recognition starts it will be linked to the right dictionary. This setting can be changed in the PreViewer.
