A rectangular field where the handwritten data insertions of the various characters of the data entry-users are previewed. The difference being that there are boxes that are designed to differentiate one character from the other. This type of field has many features  to maximize the precision of the recognition engine.
By clicking on the Menu -> Create -> Combo Box or by clicking the icon you can design and define on the form template:
width and height by dragging the mouse to the size you want.

To move or resize the Combo-box see: Selecting, Moving or Resizing Fields .
It can be positioned anywhere in the form and once placed it can be moved or resized.

The box and line properties:

The boxes are what characterize this field.  You can define:
the box by row: The number of boxes has to be defined, as it is important that you give enough boxes to the user to write in this field. Giving too many in one row could mean too small boxes and for this reason almost impossible to write in. So particular attention has to be given before setting all the properties. Minimum number of boxes is 1, maximum 50 in one line,
the rows number: number of rows (0 to 40 rows).

Options related to the Combo-box:

Text A..Z, 0..9, Symbols: Possibility to define this combo-box as a field where numerical, alphabetical or symbol handwritten data will be inserted.
A..Z = Alphabetical English letters (26 letters)
0-9 = Numbers from 0 to 9
Symbols = Pre-made symbols
A combination between these three is also possible. By default it is set as an alphanumerical field. It is important to determine correctly the type of data that will be inserted as the more restricted the set of handwritten characters the better the recognition rate.
For example in order to recognize a handwritten combo-box First Name you only need to check the Box A..Z as only the alphabetical letters are part of a first name. In some cases it is not possible to restrict the set for the recognizer and for this reason it is possible to add one or both other types of characters.
Symbol category:
You can choose the Symbol category you want to associate with the combo box by clicking on the change icon. You can even see the symbol set by clicking the See Icon. RecogInk predefines these Symbols. Customization of these features will be available in the add-on (see future releases).

You can also set a dictionary for this field (see Dictionary function)
